MODA X LAFS
The Latin American Fashion Summit (LAFS) was founded in 2018 to share the most exciting Latin American design talents with the rest of the world. Here, discover the work of three such talents, all of whom earned an award from the 2024 LAFS. Included in our roundup: Curatoria, the Argentinian label—and winner of the Social Impact Project of the Year award—that works with over 350 artisans using time-honored stitching and leather-crafting methods passed down through generations; Baobab, the vibrant Colombian label whose sustainable ethos—each garment is made from waste and helps restore coral reef ecosystems—has earned founder Isabella Espinosa the Latin Designer of the Year award; and Mexican jewelry label Studio Conchita (the recipient of the Accessories Designer of the Year award), whose colorful, ocean-inspired treasures are uniquely handcrafted via signature lampworking, goldsmithing, and stone-carving techniques.
