An ancient ritual is practiced in order to collect the raw material from which they are produced, a natural fiber made from Palma de Iraca. This ritual is performed during waning moon nights, where the men of these small tribes would go out to collect the fibers from the Iraca Palm. The woman would later clean, wash and dye the fiber naturally to later start weaving in family workshops. The dyes are all naturally extracted from seeds, leaves, branches, beef tongue, walnut,
black cedar and minerals, creating an extensive and varied color palette.
