EDITOR'S NOTE
The 1933 World's Fair Bamboo Lamp is part of a family of fixtures handmade from sustainably sourced materials and upcycled antique paper parasols given to visitors at the 20th century’s most illustrious cultural expo.
It features an oil-paper shade constructed from a vintage souvenir parasol handed out at the Japanese Pavilion during the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. It sits atop a lacquered bamboo column with rattan wrapping and a painted seagrass base.
